Level 4: Intermediate Fluency Brown Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Level 4:  Intermediate Fluency Brown Course is the fourth level to the journey of acquiring the English language.  This course supports students in the Intermediate stage in acquiring English through more advanced BJJ vocabulary, advanced speaking scenarios, reading and writing skills.  Our courses include vocabulary, grammar, and contextual practice in all four language domains (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing). The Level 4 course builds on the English acquired from the Level 1, 2 and 3 courses to advance forward with more meaningful speaking and writing experiences.  The Level 4 course also focuses on more advanced levels of reading in English.  

The Level 4:  Intermediate Fluency Brown Course consists of 10 modules for a total of 32 weeks.  Each module is a little more than 3 weeks long and includes weekly 1 hour live lessons with the instructor. The live sessions support meaningful interaction among peers as well as immediate feedback from the instructor. 

In order to continue progressing, we encourage you to participate fully in all the modules throughout the entire 32 weeks of the course.

CERTIFICATION

All students that successfully complete the course will receive a BJJ Language Academy Certificate of completion.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Expectation is for students to develop language functions and skills during the modules of each course.  The goal is to successfully complete the Level 4:  Intermediate Fluency Brown Course and score mastery on  level assessment to move on to the final course, Level 5: Advanced Fluency Black Course.  Initial course placement is determined by the placement assessment. Students that successfully complete the Level 4:  Intermediate Fluency Brown Course are expected to be able to do the following: 
  • Understand and Express fluently the foundations of English through Jiu Jitsu vocabulary and concepts
  • Understand and express Training and Competition vocabulary in English both orally and written
  • Read and Express at the level of intermediate fluency in English the Culture and Networking in International Jiu Jitsu
  • Understand and Express the application of English for International Seminars 

*You must register and submit your English Placement Test to finish enrollment as the results allow for appropriate course placement.
