Level 2: Speech Emergent Blue Course

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Level 2:  Speech Emergent Blue Course is the second level to the journey of acquiring the English language.  This course supports students in the speech emergent stage in acquiring English through beginner BJJ vocabulary and conversational English.  Our courses include vocabulary, grammar, and contextual practice in all four language domains (Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing). The Level 2 course builds on the basics from the Level 1:  Beginner White Course to advance forward with more meaningful speaking experiences. 

The Level 2:  Speech Emergent Blue Course consists of 6 modules for a total of 20 weeks.  Each module is a little more than 3 weeks long and includes weekly 1 hour live lessons with the instructor. The live sessions support meaningful interaction among peers as well as immediate feedback from the instructor. 

In order to continue progressing, we encourage you to participate fully in all the modules throughout the entire 20 weeks of the course.

CERTIFICATION

All students that successfully complete the course will receive a BJJ Language Academy Certificate of completion.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

• Expectation is for students to develop language functions and skills during the modules of each course.  The goal is to successfully complete the Level 2:  Speech Emergent Blue Course and score mastery on  level  assessment to move on to Level 3: Developing Purple Course.  Initial course placement is determined by the placement assessment. Students that successfully complete the Level 2:  Speech Emergent Blue Course are expected to be able to do the following: 
  • Understand and Express the foundations of English through Jiu Jitsu vocabulary and concepts at the emergent  level 
  • Understand and express Training and Competition vocabulary in English
  • Read and Express in emergent English the Culture and Networking in International Jiu Jitsu
  • Understand and Express the application of English for International Seminars 

*You must register and submit your English Placement Test to finish enrollment as the results allow for appropriate course placement.
